1950 Philadelphia Franklin 90% Silver Half Dollar BU
The Benjamin Franklin half dollar was designed by John R. Sinnock, Whose initials appear below the shoulder. Mint Director Nellie Tayloe Ross had long been a proponent of memorializing Franklin on a U.S. Coin. On the reverse, the tiny eagle was included to satisfy the Mint Act of 1873. Although the coin does not have a mint mark, The "no mint mark" implies that the coin was in fact made at the Philadelphia mint.
